Fellow teamates Andy Basque, Mike Pikiekleik and Chris Celi were also in the debate for the All Star Team. Basque lead all hitters in Batting Average (.406), Hits (26), and Home Runs (3). Pikielek who was hurt for most of the season went 2-1with his only loss coming against undefeated UVM (1-0), UVM averaged 9 runs a game. Celi had a sensational sophomore season going 2-1 capped off by his 2 hit complete game over the University of Maine. When asked about the decision for the All Star Team NECBA Commissioner Steve Pinner had this to say, " Mike (Pikieleik) was an all star last year and really deserved it again this year but he just didnt have enough starts." When asked about the decision over to select Basque or Keene Pinner added, "It was a really hard decision, Andy had a great year, much like he did last year, they both deserved to be all stars but unfortunately UVM went undefeated and had a lot of guys deserving of the honor so we couldn't select both of them. Matt had some big games offensively and defensively for UNH this year. At the Showcase Matt had a walk off game winning hit with two outs in the bottom of the seventh innning, if he doesnt get a hit there, they lose."
